Local Event: Henry Ford Museum Back-Room Tour

02 March 2008
Bob Casey, curator of the transportation collection at The Henry Ford, has arranged for the Michigan Region of the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club and our guests to get a back-room tour of the Conservation Lab within the museum and the Model T repair shop in the Village. A conservator and a Model T mechanic will be on hand to take us through the departments and answer your questions.

After viewing those two rarely seen facilities, Bob will give us a general or Lincoln specific tour of the transportation collection, our choice. If you get hungry theThe Weinermobile Cafe museum has two places to eat: the Wienermobile Café, serving ballpark type food, and the Michigan Café, a cafeteria-style restraurant serving both hot and cold food. Wienermobile Café closes at 4:00pm and the Michigan Café closes at 4:30 pm.

The group will gather in the I-Max Lobby at 11:45 AM, and the tour will start at 12:00 Noon.  This will give us sufficient time to see the shop tours and review the rest of museum.  Please pay in advance as this will reduce problems at the start of the tour.

This tour is not a typical experience of The Henry Ford for the common visitor. Open to non-members, too, this opportunity is too good to keep to ourselves. Please get the word out to your friends and family and RSVP as soon as possible as March 2 is coming upon us quickly.  Please RSVP using the link below.   We will acknowledge your response to confirm your presence.

    Costs:
  • Museum tour: $12.50/person (if over 15 people)
